Broly is one of the most powerful characters in the Dragon Ball series and was first introduced in an old Dragon Ball movie which was introduced as a very weak Saiyan but as the movie progressed we got to see the true extent of his power and his status as the legendary Super Sayin. His character was at first that of a mindless character who knew only one language that would destroy everything he came across. But later, as seen by many fans, Broly returned to the Dragon Ball series in a very unexpected way. The latest movie, Dragon Ball Broly, gave his character some depth to his character and a backstory that fans can relate to.
In this movie, Broly was extremely powerful at birth that it scared the scientists and King Vegeta himself as he thought Broly would have enough power to become a threat to him and his kingdom. Broly and his father Paragus were kicked out of the Sayain civilization because of the power that Broly had at his disposal. When both Broly and his father were thrown off their home planet, they were stranded on Planet Vampa for years.
The Tragic Story of Broly
But as time went on, they were both rescued by the new Frieza force looking for new strong fighters to join his forces to increase the power of his army. Broly joined the Frieza force and quickly caught the attention of Frieza, who knew the potential that Broly and he can do what Frieza couldn’t, which is defeat Goku and Vegeta. Frieza visited Earth to collect the Dragon Balls from that world and to see the battle between these three great Saiyans.
Ultimately, the power that Broly possesses turns out to be superior to what Goku and Vegeta thought, and to fight this powerhouse called Broly, they used the oldest technique in the book called fusion that allowed them to defeat Broly. Later, Broly returned to Planet Vampa and Goku befriended him. These were all the events of the film and Broly has not been seen since. For many, Broly was their favorite character and this new touch given to Broly has made him even more likeable.
Will Broly die in Dragon Ball Super
But the question remains, will Broly die in Dragon Ball Super? The answer to that question is no, because in the first place in the Dragon Ball series there is only a handful of people who have died in the series and all those people were bad people, but Broly is not a bad character in fact he is a pure soul, just like Goku. We’ve seen Broly’s dad make him fight Goku and manipulate him into becoming a mindless fighting machine. The interaction between him, Cheelai and Lemo where he talked about the first friend he made during his time on planet Vampa
It will be such a shame to see him die in the series without reaching his full potential. Dragon Ball has been a Shonen manga where characters don’t die anyway, this is another great point that solidifies this point. One of the other reasons for him not to die is that he got a full movie for himself and his character was revamped so audiences can identify with him and like him. And we’ve seen that movie characters have appeared in the Dragon Ball manga and they’re also main characters that were strongly related to the story.
It will be a shame to see such a great character go to waste. Currently, Broly is not well introduced in the Dragon Ball Super manga, but in the future he will make an appearance and that will be a great day for his fans. He would have become even more powerful because Goku may have trained him to control his emotions and powers. Broly will prove to be a very worthy ally to Goku and the gang as the villains and new characters introduced are very powerful.
