The anime adaptation was released on April 5, 2006 and ran until September 26, 2006 on NTV. It has 26 episodes and only one season, leaving fans still hoping for a second season. Who is Haruhi Fujioka?

Haruhi Fujioka is the main character of the Ouran High School Host Club anime series. She is a freshman at Ouran academy after entering through a scholarship due to her intelligence. Haruhi is very serious when it comes to her studies because keeping her first rank is the only way to keep her scholarship. Haruhi is described as a beautiful girl with long hair before she came to Ouran. But unfortunately, just before entering the prestigious school, her hair was chewed and had to get a boy cut. So during high school she has an androgynous look. Since Haruhi is not rich enough to afford the expensive Ouran uniform, she wears oversized clothes. She has a messy haircut and masculine clothes, so everyone assumes she’s a boy.

Her looks also match her personality. Haruhi believes that a person’s gender has nothing to do with their role in society and how they should be treated. She is often blunt when talking to others and can easily pick up on the motives of others. However, she is totally clueless when it comes to her own feelings.

Haruhi is supplied by fans with almost every member of the Host Club. It’s also clear that Kaoru, Hikaru, and Tamaki all have feelings for Haruhi. But the manga takes a closer look at their relationship. Haruhi and Tamaki even get married and they even have a child together. Throughout the anime, there are certain hints and developments in their relationship.

In the final episode, Haruhi shares a dance with each member of the Host Club. And if you pay close attention, they’ll notice that the dances take place in the order of how romantically each of the members was interested in Haruhi throughout the anime. Haruhi’s last two dances are with Kyoya and Tamaki. Kyoya actually steals her away from Tamaki as they dance, but he also quickly returns her. So the two share a happy dance together before the fireworks go off. The show ends with Haruhi and Tamaki looking at each other longingly as fireworks go off in the background.
