A new anime season, Spring, is just around the corner, which means a lot of new anime will be streaming soon. And fans just can’t wait for their favorite Anime sequels to get the green light from the production studios. One of them is, The Detective is Al Dead Anime, whose fans are waiting for the arrival of season 2. The anime gained popularity last fall season of 2021. As for season 2, the updates are plenty, with recent tweets from the author and much more. The Detective Is Already Dead is an adaptation of the light novel of the same name written by Nigojuu.
It was produced by Kadokawa Media under ENGI studios. With a total of 12 episodes, it ran from July 4, 2021 to September 19, 2021. The story focuses on the bizarre mystery adventures of our protagonist Kimihiko Kimizuka with his legendary detective partners. Kimizuka has always been in absurd criminal situations. And one day he was kidnapped by a group of anonymous men, who forced him to board a plane. Before he got lucky, that flight was hijacked and the situation forced him to become a detective’s sidekick.
After the incident, Kimizuka embarks on a journey to join Siesta, the detective, against an evil organization. Season 1 had it all, a good plot point for characters with a lot of drama and mystery. But what about the release of The Detective Is Al Dead Season 2, here’s everything we know about it:
Initial plot
Kimizuka was forced aboard by a couple of unknown men. During the flight he met Siesta. After battling Koumori, the man who hijacked the flight, Siesta asks Kimizuka to be her sidekick. Although he initially refuses, after her constant pleas and violent encroachments on his home, he agreed.

Ultimately, the person she wants to find is Kimizuka herself. Accepting the reality of the situation, he was happy and emotional to meet Siesta again. From then on, he again became Natsunagi’s Sidekick, and they embarked on their journey together.
The detective is already dead and being assessed
Kimizuka and Nagisa meet Yui Saikawa, a national idol, and while solving her case, they encounter their former enemy SPES. After it is revealed that the boss of the SPES organization is an alien known as Seed. And the real reason for Siesta’s death was that it was her own choice to die. And her future plan is to inherit her will for Nagisa’s soul. To sum it all up, it’s a good series with lots of development over the 12 episodes.

This anime can be considered a good watch if you like mystery and detective stories with Kawaii Girls. Of course, this series also has its negative points that have also influenced the rating among the fans of light novels. The main reason is the story as compared to the light novel.
There are some episodes where the characters are given side stories that are not crucial to the plot. But in general, if we ignore those changes and focus on the strong points, like the Unique Detective story, a story where a detective is dead, but her legacy is alive and being carried out by her Sidekick.
What happened to Alicia?
Alicia was introduced as a side character and turns out to be a good-hearted girl who has lost her memory. Siesta and Kimizuka help her regain her memory. It is later revealed that Hel, who was one of the members of SPES, was an alter ego of Alicia. It was shocking to know this cause now, Siesta became part of Hel when she was killed.

Her heart gave her control to the other, and so it ended that Hel lost the battle indirectly. We can clearly see at the end of season 1 episode 11 of the theme song that both Alicia and Siesta are part of Nagisa’s soul. And we see an explanation of that in the second season.
It will be exciting to see Alicia reunite with Kimihiko in the second season. The way they both broke up was sad. But now, after so much struggle, we can probably expect her to take Nagisa’s soul to talk to Him.
What can we expect from The Detective Is Al Dead Season 2?
Season 1 ended with Kimizuka and Siesta fighting Chameleon together. Siesta regained her soul from Nagisa’s inner self. After the fight, she handed the body back to Nagisa. Finally, the series ends with a chat in a bar with them about the future.

In the credits we get a flashback of Siesta and Kimizuka where she tells him to remember the name of the girl who will wake him from his sleep. The girl’s name is ultimately Nagisa; it connects all season one from the beginning.
This points out to us that there is a backstory and deep connection between Nagisa and Siesta, which we will see in Season 2, along with some interesting development of love relationships between the characters.
