One day during one of their brawls with the clown gang, Kaneda’s friend Tetsuo had an accident. And met a boy named Takashi, who was a runaway patient from the same government research facility that Akira came from. At the scene of the accident, the members of the capsules arrive, and with them the army arrives.
Both are captured by Colonel Shikishima and taken to the research facility. On the other hand, Kaneda and his gang are taken away by the police. At the police station, Kaneda meets Kei and falls in love with her. When the police release Kaneda and his gang, he takes Kei with him. Once they’re out, Kei disappears, without even telling Kaneda her name. Later he meets her and then he learns about the secret government organization that his friend Tetsuo is holding. The creator of the Akira movie is also the creator of the manga from which the movie was adapted. The manga was also titled “Akira” and won the 8th Kodansha Manga award in the general category. With the help of screenwriter Nelson Machado, director Otomo finished his story for the film. Based on manga, the film lacks final conviction.
