Here’s everything you need to know about the ending of ‘Spy x Family’ Episode 12. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Spy x Family Episode 12 Recap
Loid encounters a secret WISE contact, the Westalian Intelligence, at an underground train station. The undercover cop works there as a shopkeeper and informs Loid about an important mission that must be completed as soon as possible. The secret spy manages to complete the task shortly afterwards and is praised by another messenger from his organization. But the constant pressure is finally starting to hit him after working so hard.
When he reaches his house, Loid overhears the neighbors talking about him and his family. They have noticed that the secret spy is rarely near his family, and even Yor spends less time with her husband. They feel that Loid is probably cheating on his wife and seems very suspicious. Because the family is rarely together, the neighbors doubt that there is something wrong with the Forgers. As the secret spy listens patiently, he realizes that the alleged family could potentially be exposed if he doesn’t take things more seriously and be careful going forward.
Once he reaches his apartment, he tells Anya and Yor to go for a walk together. Yor is taken aback by the sudden plan, especially when Loid looks extremely tired. But Loid is determined; when he sees that Anya is drawing a penguin, he decides to go to the aquarium with his family. When the family reaches the train station, Loid notices that WISE’s agent acting as a shopkeeper wants to get him a message.
It turns out that a crucial piece of information is being exchanged that day at the Berlint Aquarium. The information the terrorists are trying to transfer is from a new scientific weapons manufacturing process that could potentially be used for terrible purposes. Although he tries to ignore the mission because he wants to spend time with his family, the WISE agent is persistent. She argues that the lives of tens of thousands of people are at stake because the new technology is extremely dangerous.
Loid is taken back when he learns that his decision could have such far-reaching consequences and reluctantly accepts the mission. When the forgers later arrive at Berlint’s aquarium, they find their neighbors there. While Loid wants to get rid of them as quickly as possible, Yor invites them to spend the rest of the day with them. The secret spy worries that he may accidentally ruin his cover if he is too busy with his mission and not spending time with his family.
The trio begins to explore the aquarium when they finally begin to observe the penguins. Loid has been tipped off that he will find the secret of the dangerous weapons in a pod fed to one of the penguins. Unfortunately, it seems literally impossible to figure out which of the penguins is the one with the capsule as there are literally hundreds of them.
Spy x Family Episode 12 Ending: Can the Loid Intercept the New Weapons Production Blueprints?
After Loid realizes he has a long day ahead of him, he immediately sets out to look for a clue that may help him identify the penguin he needs to find. Anya, who is also there with his father, can read his mind and understand the importance of finding the pod as soon as possible. She concentrates very hard and reads the penguins’ minds so she can find out who got the capsule of secret information.
Fortunately, with a lot of patience and perseverance, she finds the one Loid was looking for. She points to that penguin and tells her father that he looks uncomfortable and unwell. Loid realizes that the penguin is trying to drink as if there is something stuck in his throat. He immediately disguises himself as one of the workers and blends in with the people responsible for looking after the animals in the aquarium.
After impressing the other workers, he finds the penguin he was looking for. If she stares into his mouth, he could be sticking something in his throat. Loid takes it to the back room with the excuse of giving him medical care and tries to retrieve the pod. However, a man who introduces himself as a marine biologist asks him to hand over the penguin to him. However, when Loid checks his ID card, he can easily find out that it is fake.
When another worker tells him to take the penguin to the medical room instead, the secret spy uses it as an opportunity to flee. Meanwhile, the fake marine biologist who actually works for the terrorists decides to point others to him. However, Anya reads his mind and jumps at him. Seeing Yor, Anya calls for help and makes it look like she’s been kidnapped.
The secret killer is quick to catch up with the suspicious man and knocks him down with just one brutal kick. Meanwhile, Loid manages to extract the capsule from the penguin’s mouth and prevent the terrorists from getting their hands on another dangerous weapon production method that could potentially kill tens of thousands of people.
