It was published by Shueisha Publications as the English version was released by Viz Media Publications and serialized in Shonen Jump+ magazine. The manga was released on March 25, 2019 and has released the 9 tankobon volumes so far. An anime adaptation of the manga was announced for April 2022 and was released on April 9, 2022. Spy x Family Episode 1 Summary

The Spy X Family anime series premiered on April 9, 2022, with the first episode titled “Operation Strix”. It is the very first episode and starts with the diplomat of Westalis dying in a car accident, and later this issue was discussed in the meeting. They see that this was a planned murder carried out by a certain person. So to get a thorough picture of their plan, they assigned their top agent “Twilight” to do his part. They wanted him to keep an eye on the leader of Ostania’s National Unity Party, Donovan Desmond. Because that man is very cunning, Twilight was asked to start a family to stay close to Desmond. To achieve this goal, he must also adopt a child and enroll them in the same school as Demond’s son Damien. So he formed a false identity named Loid Forger and adopted a young girl named Anya.

However, there seems to be something wrong with this kid that Twilight was unaware of. Anya was an esper. While the new father and daughter were settling in, Anya accidentally sent Transmission to a pastor of Ostania Edgar. As a result, she was eventually kidnapped by Edgar’s men. Twilight hatched a plan to reduce Anya by disguising herself as one of Edgar’s villains and blackmailing Edgar by using his daughter Karen. Twilight rescued Anya and warned Edgar not to mind his business. Later, Twilight decides to find Anya a better home so she can have a better life than he had when he was a kid. Anya was happy to be with him, and they got along to find a new home.
