About Shoto and Dabi
Getting started introducing Shoto Todoroki and Daki also known as Toya. As I mentioned above, these two characters are actually siblings, which makes them fly at each other’s throats. Shoto and Toya Todoroki are the sons of The Flame Hero Endeavour, where Toya is the eldest. From the moment Toya was born, his father discovered that Toya had the erratic flame stronger than him. This caused Enji to train Toya from an early age with a motive to one day surpass All Might. However, things didn’t change that much when Toya grew stronger, his own flames started to affect him. This didn’t go unnoticed by Enji, so he asked Toya to focus on something else. But he seemed unstoppable and due to the fact that Enji totally neglected him and after getting Shoto he started training him.
Dabi felt the need for attention and started to hate Shoto, who got all the attention from his father because he had a gift of two idiosyncrasies. Dabi began to develop a hatred of both his father and Shoto. Little did he know that Shoto was just a tool for their father to surpass All Might. The rejection made him follow the villainous path and be what he is today. Initially, Shoto did not know that Dabi was his older brother. However, during the Paranormal Liberation War Arc, Dabi revealed it herself. Dabi also revealed the fact that he really wanted to kill Shoto once he became a successful hero. Simply because he is Enji’s little puppet and follows his path like a hero.
Shoto vs. Dabi: Who would win?
Coming to the most anticipated question of the ages, when Shoto and Dabi face each other in a one-on-one fight, who will win? The manga is progressing lately and you will see it very soon. Until then, though, let’s evaluate this question. If you see this question based on their idiosyncrasies and abilities, then I would say that: Shoto will win. Dabi is a super strong person and his flaming whim surpassed even his father’s. But we all know that every power has a price. In a fight where Dabi has access to the full extent of his flames, they will exert a strong effect on him as he has a much lower tolerance to heat.
While for Shoto we know that he hasn’t mastered the use of his fire grill yet but he already knows how to use his ice grill to the fullest. Shoto is able to regulate his body temperature with his idiosyncrasies allowing him to push himself to the limit. Although Dabi has already defeated an ice manipulator, it will be difficult for him to fight against an ice scooper who can also use a fire grill. If Shoto could catch Dabi in some sort of hard ice trick, then unfortunately Dabi will have to put him through some life-threatening actions to get out of that. So we can say that if Dabi will not use his power to the full he will be defeated by Shoto and if he does he will harm himself. Either way, it’s a lost game for Dabi.
Will Shoto’s mother’s side be able to influence this fight?
Another thing that comes with Shoto and Dabi’s struggle is their mother’s influence on both of them. We all know that Rei Todoroki was the only one who judged both of her children equally. When Toya was neglected by his father, she stood by him and told Enji that “it’s the only recognition he needs. After that time, the relationship between Rei and Enji began to sour. Enji abused Rei to the extent that she literally went psychic and poured boiling water over Shoto, which she immediately realized. However, Shoto never blamed her for his and it’s possible that this emotional side gets in the way. Shoto could be thinking of her mother and in order not to make her even more depressed, he could defeat Dabi, but also save him from self-destruction.
