Here’s everything you need to know about the ending of ‘Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie’ Episode 2. SPOILERS AHEAD!

Shikimori Isn’t Just a Cutie Episode 2 Recap

Izumi and Inuzuka discuss the upcoming sports competition in which their class will compete with others when Shikimori arrives and tells her boyfriend that she is on the volleyball team. Mesmerized by her cuteness, Izumi seems happy with her new haircut, although Inuzuka believes it will hinder her game. Nekozaki explains that they all decided to have a similar one as a sign of solidarity and to instill the sense of teamwork. As the boys are going to play soccer, Shikimori is curious about the timing of the match so she can cheer up her boyfriend.

Izumi has no idea, so they check the timetable together and are shocked to learn that the first volleyball and soccer game will be played at the same time. Though disappointed that they won’t be cheering each other on, the couple sends each other their best wishes. Later, Shikimori goes to the boy’s soccer practice and worries about Izumi’s well-being.

Just as she hopes he doesn’t get hurt, her boyfriend doesn’t notice a ball coming from behind, and by the time he turns around, he gets punched right in the face. Izumi is then taken to the school’s clinic, where he gets some rest. Although the volleyball match is about to start, Shikimori tells Nekozaki that she will join her as soon as possible to be on her boyfriend’s side and make sure he is safe.

Though Shikimori is concerned, Izumi reassures her that she is fine. That’s when his girlfriend notices that Izumi has scars all over his body. When she asks him, he explains that he got them when a truck drove into her house. By then, Shikimori had witnessed himself getting into all sorts of strange trouble, so his explanation didn’t shock her in the least. While warming up for the game, Shikimori notices that everyone is excited to meet a girl. Nekozaki explains that she is Kamiya, the ace of the volleyball club, and will play against their team during the match.

After feeling better, Izumi joins his team. They do their best on the field and once the match is over, they decide to go and watch the volleyball match. When they arrive at the indoor track, Kamiya single-handedly dominates Shikimori’s team. When it looks like Izumi’s classmates are going to lose the game, he starts cheering for his girlfriend and gives her a newfound confidence. Shikimori reacts immediately and turns the game upside down. Kamiya’s team can’t stop her and Izumi’s classmates eventually win the game.

Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Episode 2 Ends: What are the implications of Shikimori’s newfound fame on the couple’s relationship?

After the volleyball competition is over, Shikimori is visited by many fans from different classes of the school who saw her remarkable match that day and want to have a picture with her. The newfound fame is overwhelming for her, but she does her best to give everyone some time and listen to their polite requests. Unfortunately, with so much going on, she can’t take care of Izumi the way she usually does, and he keeps getting into trouble. Meanwhile, in the following days, Shikimori becomes the hero of the school.

One day, while taking a picture with someone, Inuzuka saves Izumi from a ball that flies into the classroom from the window. However, he himself injured himself. The commotion draws everyone’s attention to the two, and Shikimori sees Izumi tending to his friends’ injuries. While Izumi may just be concerned about Inuzuka’s well-being, Shikimori becomes jealous and seems to feel replaced. Strange as her conclusions may be, the couple begins to drift apart in the face of Shikimori’s growing fame. So it’s understandable why she feels insecure right now.

Meanwhile, Izumi also struggles without his girlfriend, but keeps his feelings to himself. He has gotten into trouble several times over the past few days, but luckily Inuzuka is there for him. Although deep down he is happy with the help he has received, Izumi seems to miss his girlfriend, who has little time for him due to her fans. In all the chaos and misunderstanding, he doesn’t realize they’ve even stopped going back home together.

However, Inuzuka who saves Izumi from Shikimori eventually does and makes the main character realize she needs to be with his boyfriend more. Keeping her jealousy and insecurities aside, she follows Izumi just as he is about to leave for home and manages to save him from a serious injury when he misses a step on the stairs and is about to fall. The couple may have drifted apart for a few days, but it seems that they now have a newfound respect and admiration for each other, which will of course bring them closer together in the long run.
