In an interview with TV Asahi, the creator said that since the anime’s plot is based on a post-apocalyptic theme, the pandemic had a less tangible effect on it. About Suzume no Tojimari

Suzume no Tojimari, also known as Suzume’s Locking – Up is an upcoming original anime series. The film is produced by CoMix Wave Films and is directed by the one and only Makoto Shinkai. The character design is done by Masayoshi Tanaka and the animation is done by Kenichi Tsuchiya. The project of this film was announced in 2020 and was scheduled to run from January to March 2020. However, when the pandemic broke out, the project was delayed. In August 2020, the script was ready when the story was drafted from September 2020 to December 2021. Finally, in April 2021, production on the film started again and the release date was set. Makoto Shinkai revealed the plot of the movie and it sounds totally unique.

Suzume no Tojimari Synopsis

The plot of the anime series Suzume no Tojimari takes you to the door of different dimensions while giving you some real-life teachings at the same time. The main character of the movie Suzume no Tojimari is a 17 year old girl named Suzume. She lives in a very calm and quiet town in the Kyushu region of Japan. The girl had a very ordinary life until she met a young man. At that moment he was looking for a door while Suzume helped him find it. When they both found it, they traveled together to the old door that took them to an abandoned house in the mountains. This brought Suzume to the door and the “Door of Disaster” started appearing all over Japan.

This also led to many unfortunate disasters that began to take place. Suzume’s adventure began when she traveled through Japan to close this “Doors of Disaster”. In the process, they made a lot of adventures and fights by seeking the freedom of an adult girl.

The first look at the film via the teaser poster was released along with the film’s announcement on December 15, 2021. Another update to the film was discontinued on April 9, 2022, telling us more about the main character. Later, on April 10, 2022, Toho debuted a teaser trailer for the film. Makoto Shinkai used a very good way of developing the film further. He said the film includes the activity of closing doors. That may have to do with finishing loose ends. The film will take viewers along the roads of Japan, which will not only be recognizable but also make the brands come to the theater and stream it. The release date of the movie Suzume no Tojimari is set to November 11, 2022 in Japan.
