Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 Episode 3 Recap
Nakanaka expresses her wish to Tadano to learn what Komi thinks in different situations so that she can understand her better. Yamai joins in too, and the two begin asking Komi’s roommate for help. Tadano turns the whole situation into an exciting game where Nakanaka and Yamai will have to predict what the main character should think during random events throughout the day.
Much to the duo’s dismay, they usually fail to guess Komi’s thoughts, while Tadano helps them understand the titular protagonist in a much better way. Later, when Tadano is alone in class, Shinobino, Sonoda, and Shigeo begin to discuss their romantic fantasies again. Shigeo explains that he’s thought it through and shared a romantic scenario with Komi after Shinobino and Sonoda tell him their ideal date plans.
He states that he cannot imagine her in any modern setting and starts to portray her in his story as a deadly hitman. However, the conversation between the trio unexpectedly comes to a halt when Komi enters the classroom and they pretend nothing happened. During the lunch break, Katai approaches Komi and Tadano and is about to invite them to dinner with him, but is too scared to say anything. As his two classmates stare at him, he runs off to end the awkward confrontation.
Tadano has noticed that he was holding his tiffin in his hand and carefully concludes what Katai must be thinking. He follows him and offers to have lunch together. Katai is shocked that his classmate has been able to read him like an open book. Realizing that this is an excellent opportunity for him to become friends with Tadano, he tries to make the conversation as interesting as possible for both of them. But it soon becomes clear that Katai is just too stressed and needs to relax. Tadano asks him to calm himself, and the two then invite Komi to join them, who has been observing their strange interaction for quite some time.
Later that night, Komi hears a yakimo food truck wandering in her neighborhood. She immediately follows the sound and chases after the truck, but only succeeds in buying the sweet potato after several attempts. Meanwhile, Tadano remembers the time he dressed up as a maid during the cultural festival. He decides to go outside, hoping to take his mind off the bad memory, and runs into Komi. The duo have a short conversation and Tadano gathers the courage to ask her to go out with him in the winter. Komi agrees without hesitation and the two return home flushed.
Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 Episode 3 Ending: Will Tadano and Komi Express Their Feelings for Each Other?
Fans of the show have been sending Tadano and Komi for a while now. The duo has indirectly expressed their romantic interest in each other several times. However, Komi’s shyness, coupled with her communication breakdown, is a huge hurdle that they must overcome before the duo can finally express their feelings to each other. Fortunately, Tadano helped the protagonist make more friends and become more empowered, which brought them together. In addition, at school they often spend most of their time in each other’s company.
While this is all a positive move in the right direction, the lack of effort to be candid about romantic feelings is something that draws her back. However, getting the duo to express their feelings could prove to be a crucial step. But how long will this actually take? Well, looking at Komi’s slow progress in adapting to casual social affairs, it looks like fans are going to have a long wait. Romantic relationships are just too complicated for someone who can barely talk to her classmates.
This rating can be supported by Tomohito Oda’s Japanese manga series, which serves as the inspiration for the anime. While fans can rejoice that the Komi and Tadano will eventually open up about their feelings and date each other, unfortunately they still have a long way to go. Komi still has many challenges to overcome before she feels comfortable enough in a romantic relationship. That’s why we won’t see the duo propose to each other anytime soon.
