Is Komi losing the love game?

In ‘Komi Can’t Communicate’ Season 2 Episode 2, Komi and her friends couldn’t go to school in the morning because of a strong typhoon. Later, the students begin to speculate about their potential relationships with their female classmates. The conversation interests Tadano, who also pays passive attention to the discussion. Here’s everything you need to know about the ending of ‘Komi Can’t Communicate’ Season 2 Episode 2. SPOILERS AHEAD!

Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 Episode 2 Recap

Komi storms out of her room – looking forward to another exciting day at school – and stops at the front door of the house because of the rain. Shuuko, her mother, tells Komi that her teacher called and explained that a hurricane warning has been issued in the region and that she must stay at home for now. Komi is understandably sad that she can’t meet her friends. When a lightning strike scares her, Shuuko decides to comfort Komi by letting her sleep on her lap. She barely starts to feel better when her mother decides to check the electrical fuse with Shousuke.

Fortunately, Tadano calls at the right time to make sure Komi is home safely. He’s glad to hear she didn’t go out in the bad weather, but is soon stunned by the strange commotion from the other side. He finds out that Komi is probably not feeling well because of the power outage, but after they talk for a while, she starts to feel a lot better.

Later, when the students return to school, Yamai plans a perverted attempt to see Komi’s panties by taking her to a nearby puddle. Fortunately, all her desperate measures fail for some reason. When the students are charmed by the beautiful sight of the rainbow, Yamai finally gives up and stands in awe of the natural beauty around her.

Tadano is alone in class when he overhears some students discussing possible romantic affairs with their female classmates. Most of their imaginations are unrealistic and based more on fantasy than on reality. Tadano can’t help but is drawn into the conversation and begins to imagine a romantic day with Komi. He visualizes them having dinner together, after which they help each other to do the dishes. However, Tadano is ashamed of his imagination when he comes to his senses.

When Komi learns about a cat cafe through the news, she asks Najimi to join her there. However, they reveal that they are actually allergic to cats while Tadano refuses to go as he is busy with other work. Finally, Onemine and Otori visit the cat cafe with Komi. While the other two don’t have to struggle for the cats’ attention, Komi chases them away for an inexplicable reason. The battle continues until a black cat, known not to go near anyone, sits on Komi’s lap of its own accord. The next day, Tadano’s classmates at school play the love game.

Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 Episode 2 Ending: Does Komi Lose the Love Game?

In the love game, students randomly say “I love you” to one of their humble friends, hoping to get a response from them. If they manage to embarrass them, they win, while the other contestant must maintain an emotionless face to deny the challenger a win and stay in the game. Yamai uses this as an opportunity to get Komi to say the three magic words. When she proposes, Komi keeps her poker face as Yamai expected. While Komi persists long enough, Yamai asks her to try saying “I love you” to her now.

However, they are interrupted by Najimi, who, under the guise of a chat, suddenly proposes to Komi. But like Yamai, they also get no response from her. Najimi realizes that nothing is working for her and asks Tadano to say, “I love you, Komi.” Though reluctant at first, Tadano agrees to propose but is interrupted. Komi uses this as an opportunity and immediately storms out of the room to relax. She was about to react emotionally, but was saved by the unexpected interruption. However, Komi realizes that she would like Tadano to propose to her someday. Therefore, the main character does not lose the lovemaking, despite the persistent efforts of Najimi and Yamai.
