Extreme Hearts Episode 3 Review
We see in episode 3 that during their next class, Hiyori will teach Sumika and Saki the basics of singing. They learn how to control their breath and sing in the same breath. Hiyori will be impressed to see Sumika and Saki sing a high note in the same breath. To succeed at Extreme Hearts, they will need to practice their instruments. Saki chose to play guitar and Sumika chose the keyboard. They will find it challenging at first, but Hiyori inspired them to practice until they became winners.
Their game plan seemed perfect as Saki and Sumika gave them a tough game, but they could keep up. Meanwhile, Hiyori and the androids weren’t a problem at first…”That seemed to be the case in the first half.” Despite their best efforts, their game plan was not flawless as Saki and Sumika gave them a tough match, but they managed to keep up.
When the 3rd quarter started, Sumika was like “Relax Hiyori” while our main girl unleashed her greatest asset: adaptability. That and she trained hard to keep up with her teammates. Once she figured out what her competitors were up to, she was able to make a comeback and show them they weren’t properly prepared. When Smile Power’s team captain intervened, it fought a stronger battle, but not enough to defeat our heroines. Some thought it would be better if they experienced defeat and could get stronger next time, but I was fine with them winning as I was looking forward to seeing their debut.
May Bee, the show’s final boss, kept a close eye on their match. They didn’t make the same mistake Smile Power did by closely scouting their potential competition. As they prepare to perform, Saki and Sumika begin to get nervous. I think there will be more and more of these things in the future. This is as much a story about an idol becoming a sports star as it is about sports stars becoming idols. It didn’t help that RISE came in last with one vote in a popularity poll.
Since Saki and Sumika debuted, they knew they would get so few votes, but that only made them more nervous. Then Hiyori came by to reassure them. Although she wasn’t nervous, she understood the importance of this. It was delicious and even impressed one of the May Bee players. Our heroines were now at the beginning of their adventure.
