Summer Time Rendering of the manga series by author and illustrator Yasuki Tanaka was published by Shueisha Publications. The English adaptation of the manga was released by Udon Entertainment. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ magazine on October 23, 2017. The manga continues to release new volumes for 4 years and ended on February 1, 2021 with 13 tankobon volumes. The manga belongs to the suspense genre and finally got an anime adaptation from OLM Studio. The anime is directed by Ayumu Watanabe and the screenplay was provided by Hiroshi Seko. The anime’s songs and music were provided by musicians Keiichi Okabe, Ryuichi Takada, and Heigo Hoashi.
The plot of the manga series is about the life of the main character of the series named Shinpei Ajiro. Shipei has left his hometown, but one unfortunate day he came to his hometown Wakayama City after learning about the death of his friend Ushio Kofune. On his return, he reunites with his childhood friend’s family, as they all attended his funeral. At first glance, everything looked very normal, as the funeral went very smoothly, but deep down, something strange happened. Shipei didn’t feel good when he sensed that something was brewing on the island and began investigating further. The plot will further show the show the reasons for many accidents on Hitogashima Island.

The Summer Time Rendering anime series was announced at the Jump Fest on December 19, 2021. According to that reveal, the anime series will be divided into 25 episodes and the very first episode will be released in April 2022. The main PV and Key visuals for the anime were released in its entirety and give us a glimpse into the type of animation we’ll be getting in the upcoming anime series. However, as the time approaches, the creators have announced the exact date slated for the release of episode one of the series. With the announcement of the anime series, a few first and important cast of the anime was revealed. The cast included Natsuki Hanae as Shinpei Ajiro, Saho Shirasu as Mio Kofune, and Anna Nagase as Ushio Kofune. These are the main characters of the series as revealed first, according to the latest details, a few more characters and their voice actors have been added to the list. This includes Yokuo Hikasa as Hisuru Minakata, Jin Urayama as Ginjiro Nezu, Maki Kawase as Tokiko Hishigata, and Kensho Ono as Sou Hishigata. We still have a long list of characters whose voice artists have still remained discreet.
The PV of the anime gives us the view of Shinpei returning to this birthplace and remembering the late Ushio. It also showed how Mio spoke about how Shipei’s way of speaking is different during a meeting after so many times. However, the teaser got more serious when Shipei found out something wasn’t right and his three-day journey of protection for Ushio and the world began.
