Date A Live IV Episode 4 Recap
Nia alludes to Shidou that she suspects Spirits used to be human, as she has memories of the time she was one. However, she can’t really look at it now because Raziel is incomplete. She also expresses her regret that she was not able to learn more about the Spirit of Origin, which could have given all Spirits a much better understanding of themselves and the world around them. The next day, just when everything seems normal, an asteroid suddenly falls from space, creating a huge crater.
When Shidou meets Itsuka, she informs him that similar incidents have been observed all over the planet at the same time. However, what connects them all is the fact that DEM and Anti Spirit Teams worldwide were affected by the as yet unidentified objects of unknown origin. Miku argues that it is possible that the power and magic of the Spirit were the actual target in these incidents. They soon learn that a ghost – codenamed Zodiac, who has never been seen before and is actually in space – is responsible for all the chaos.
It was actually the DEM that found her first, and the Ratatoskr only managed to track her down by investigating the strange movements of their ships in space. Miku thinks Westcott probably used Beelzebub to find the new Ghost. Zodiac uses the angel named Michael, who is in the form of a key. Once it pierces something, the angel has the ability to take away its abilities and make them an easy target. Michael has another, more dangerous power. It can open warp gates into space and then send objects that fall into them to portals of Zodiac’s choice, which can be placed anywhere in the world.
The worldwide asteroid incident was carried out by Zodiac with the same force. She fought and destroyed DEM ships, then sent the debris to various locations on the planet using the portals created by Michael. Unable to go into space right away, the Ratatoskr decides to use its 3D projections to engage in a conversation with Zodiac. When the new Spirit suddenly sees him, she immediately goes for an attack, but soon realizes that she is wasting her time.
Shidou introduces himself to her and how he tries to protect spirits like her while saving innocent human lives from the dangers of extraordinary interdimensional beings who resemble her. While Zodiac admits she understands his mission, she refuses to come to Earth to have her powers sealed. She explains that she has closed her heart to all emotions before destroying the projector and breaking communication between them. When Shidou discusses a future course of action with the rest of the Spirits, Itsuka is requested to meet with a visitor named Elliot Baldwin Woodman.
Date A Live IV Episode 4 Ending: Who Is Elliot Baldwin Woodman? Why did he leave the DEM?
When everyone is sitting together, prepared to meet the unknown visitor, a man in a wheelchair enters the room with a woman. Most Ratatoskr members don’t know him. When Yatogami asks him who he is, Itsuka introduces him as Elliot Baldwin Woodman, the founder of Ratatoskr and the chairman of the roundtable. He patiently waits for his chance to speak and thanks Shidou for saving the lives of so many Spirits thus far.
Before he could talk further, the Spirit with the power to look up something about humans asked Woodman why he was now trying to save the Spirits, when it was he who had manifested them in the first place. Woodman does not hesitate and accepts that he, along with Westcott and Ellen Mathers, founded the DEM about three decades ago with the aim of harnessing the powers of the Spirits.
However, when he first encountered the Spirit of Origin, he changed his mind and decided to give up his twisted goals. Woodman left the DEM and soon began saving Spirits. When he was pressed to explain what exactly led to such a sudden change of mind, he went on to explain that he fell in love with the Spirit of Origin when he first saw her. After that, he couldn’t bear to see ghosts in pain. Unfortunately, before they could discuss more, Westcott and his man attacked the Ratatoskr base.
