While most students are busy strategizing for their class, Ayanokouji shares some shocking secrets with Karuizawa that shake her to the bone. Here’s everything you need to know about the ending of ‘Classroom of the Elite’ Season 2 Episode 4. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Episode 4 Recap
After the unique exam that put the students to the intellectual test, class D students learn about the upcoming sports festival from their teacher. In preparation for this, the class schedules have already been adjusted and the students will therefore receive more physical education classes in the coming weeks. Although their class teacher refuses to clarify whether the sports festival itself will also become a special exam, she does claim that it will have a huge impact on the class.
Students from different classes are divided into teams Red and White, with class D being paired with class A in the first. There will be both team and individual competitions. The students of the winning team will get compensation points on the written exam, but the freshmen who are in the bottom ten will get ten points deducted from their upcoming written tests. It is up to the students to choose which ones will participate in which order and which competition.
When discussing the different scenarios, most students agree that individuals should participate in competitions based on their abilities. While Horikita agrees, she goes a step further by stating that students who are faster and more agile should be matched in group competitions with someone who is less athletic so that the class can eventually get a higher overall ranking. She thinks it will at least ensure the class victory. However, Karuizawa strongly disagrees with her suggestions, stating that they make no sense.
Karuizawa believes that the whole plan ultimately reduces the chances of their class winning the competition because the bottom students will lose points, as stated by their class teacher. Ultimately, Horikita’s competency-based plan and Karuizawa’s leadership that considers individual opinions oppose each other. Therefore, the students are asked to vote on the issue, and in the end Karuizawa’s plan gets a better response from the class. Later that day, Class D starts preparing for the sports festival and starts training on the indoor and outdoor grounds.
Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Episode 4 Ending: What Plans Does Ayanokouji Share with Karuizawa for the Sports Festival?
After the class discussion, Karuizawa confronts Ayanokouji. It turned out that it was he who prompted her to take a stand against Horikita’s suggestion, and also asked her to press Kushida for her response on this topic. While Ayanokouji refuses to fully reveal what’s going through his mind, he does reveal that he now firmly believes he can progress his class to grade A.
While Karuizawa is taken aback by the bold claim, Ayanokouji decides he needs to tell her some more to build trust between them. Therefore, he further predicts that someone in their class will turn out to be a traitor during the sports festival. That particular student will share critical information about the class and try to sabotage everyone else’s efforts. Though Ayanokouji is hesitant to share otherwise, it seems he intends to take down the traitor and help his class outperform everyone else.
What was the trick to find out the VIP students in different groups?
In the unique exam where the students of all classes were divided into four different groups named after planets, they were given the task of finding out the identity of the VIP student among them. Based on how they performed, there were four scenarios where different points were awarded to students. While nearly all participants relied on negotiation and other ways to put themselves in the best position, they missed a simple hint that could have made the entire exam a breeze for them. Almost all the tests organized by Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School have an underlining clue or trick that can help the students.
In the unique exam, students were divided into different groups named after the planets in the solar system as mentioned earlier. If the team was Mercury, ie the first planet, then the VIP in that group would be the student whose name came first when the students’ names were arranged in alphabetical order. The same was true for all the other teams. Ryuen recognized this simple hint early in the exam, so he was sure of the VIPs’ identities.
