Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Episode 3 Recap
After cornering Karuizawa, Manabe and her friends start bullying her through no fault of her own. Meanwhile, Yukimura and Ayanokouji watch as all the drama unfolds right in front of them. Ayanokouji tells his friend not to interfere because he seems to have a plan. Manabe and her companions show no remorse. Knowing that Karuizawa can’t really stand up for themselves, they use that to their advantage. Not only do they attack her physically, but they have enough courage to shoot the whole ordeal as they are sure they have cornered Karuizawa emotionally.
As the bullying continues and becomes more relentless by the minute, Yukimura runs out of patience. He ignores Ayanokouji’s advice and confronts Manabe and others who pretend nothing happened. Before leaving, they whisper to Karuizawa to shut up. Therefore, when Yukimura checks on her, she tells him that she never really asked him for help and walks away without even thanking him. Later that day, Ayanokouji sends an anonymous email to Manabe inviting her to take revenge on Karuizawa for which he offers all his support.
After their online interaction, Manabe and some of her friends close Karuizawa in a remote place where they begin to physically attack her again. This time they are even more ruthless and show no regrets when they beat her up. Karuizawa is helpless and does not resist the brutal attack, because she knows that angering her bullies can have even worse consequences for her. Once they leave, Ayanokouji tries to manipulate Karuizawa to see if she stands up for herself. However, she shows no motivation to protect herself and accepts his questionable demand.
Ayanokouji is surprised by her lack of self-esteem, but soon learns that Karuizawa has been left defenseless through lifelong bullying. He offers her a chance to become his ally and in return promises to give her all the emotional support she needs. In addition, he plans to protect her from her bullies and using the evidence he has gathered against them. Karuizawa realizes this is her golden opportunity to protect herself, so she understandably joins forces with Ayanokouji.
Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Episode 3 Ending: Is Ayanokouji the VIP in Group Mars? How does he fool his teammates?
After failing to end the stalemate at all of their previous meetings, the Mars group reunites once more to discuss their plans as the deadline approaches. Since the team has been unable to figure out who the VIP is, Hamaguchi suggests that there is now only one way to move forward. Each member of the team must show their cell phone to the entire group so that the identity of the VIP can be revealed. While Machida tries to dissuade them on the grounds that their decision could backfire, Hamaguchi is determined to follow through on the plan.
As he opens the email to reveal that he is not the VIP, the rest of the Mars group members also feel brave enough to show their emails to others as well. One by one, all the members begin to reveal that they are not the lucky student until it is Yukimura’s turn. He shows his phone to the class and accepts that he is the VIP. However, there is a twist to the story. When Ichinose calls Ayanokouji’s number, the phone starts to ring in Yukimura’s hand. It turns out that the two friends exchanged their phones to keep the VIP’s identity a secret, as Ayanokouji didn’t trust other members of the group.
While the whole plan to show each other’s email was a trust-building exercise, it eventually backfired when Ayanokouji tried to cheat on his own teammates. As the students leave one after the other, Ayanokouji remains quite calm. After the meeting, he meets Karuizawa and it turns out that his plans were even more complicated to decipher than anyone could have imagined. Ayanokouji has set things up so that although students in his group realize he has exchanged phones with Yukimura, the VIP’s identity remains secret.
It’s only possible because Karuizawa was the VIP, not him. To fool his teammates, he pretended that his cover had blown, which was not the case at all. Ayanokouji also exchanged phones with Karuizawa at first, along with the sim. That phone ended up in Yukimura’s hand after the exchange. So when Ichinose called, everyone in the Mars group thought Ayanokouji was the VIP. However, that phone was actually Karuizawa while only the sim in it belonged to him. Basically, Karuizawa was the VIP of team Mars, not Ayanokouji.
