After a brief chat with Kouenji, who is busy exercising, Hirata meets Yukimura and Ayanokouji to discuss something important. Since no one is around, he tells his teammates that he was informed by Kushida that she is one of the VIPs of the class. However, Yukimura states that if the VIPs are evenly distributed among the classes, there must be one more VIP in their classes. But before they can continue talking, Kouenji suddenly approaches them, adding that two more days of waiting for the deadline is too much of a hassle.

He hints that they can figure out the liar through a quiz and ends the game for the Saturn group by sending an email to the school. When Ayanokouji is alone in his room, he texts Suzune about the drama that has just unfolded. She is furious and asks why he couldn’t stop Kouenji from doing something reckless. Ayanokouji knew that once Kouenji had made up his mind, there wasn’t much that could be done to stop him. The two friends later meet to discuss the special exam.

Ayanokouji asks Suzune for information about Karuizawa. He states that he has a good idea about his other teammates, but has absolutely no idea about her. He confesses that he wants Karuizawa to work with him because he understands how important it is that the whole class D is on the same page. Unfortunately, their conversation is interrupted by Ryuen, who claims to have understood the gist of the investigation. Ryuusen reveals that the special exam will be an overwhelming victory for Class C. However, he also reveals that he has managed to corner the students so much that he will soon be able to learn the true identities of their VIPs. When Suzune claims he can be evicted if caught, Ryuusen downplays all the risks involved. However, he offers to join hands with her so that Class B, C, and D can share information and crush Class A. But Suzune wastes no time and immediately turns down the opportunity because she clearly doesn’t trust him.

Later that day, Ayanokouji sees Hirata and Karuizawa talking about their relationship. The latter expects the former to protect her, even if it means using violent means – something Hirata doesn’t want to do. He confesses that he doesn’t mind pretending to date her, but he can’t fixate on her alone. The argument between the couple just escalates from there and Karuizawa eventually goes back to her room, enraged by Hirata’s unwillingness to support her.

Ayanokouji takes the opportunity to learn more about the duo by asking Hirata some tricky questions. The latter soon realizes that he wants nothing but the truth and most likely won’t be fooled by excuses. Hirata reveals that the only reason he started dating Karuizawa was to protect her. Although she tries hard but deep down she is very insecure. It turns out she was severely bullied in high school and elementary school. Therefore, the couple pretends to be together to make sure that Karuizawa doesn’t happen again.

After Ayanokouji learns the truth about the relationship between Karuizawa and Hirata, he encounters the former when he arrives for the team’s Mars group discussion. But before they could talk about anything, other members of the team soon reached the conference room. Although the students from other classes are willing to share the information honestly and end up with a win-win situation, class A is still reluctant.
