Here’s everything you need to know about the ending of ‘Call of the Night’ Episode 3. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Call of the Night Episode 3 Recap

One night, when Kou and Nazuna are sitting on top of a tall building, she asks him if he has a boyfriend. To her surprise, Kou doesn’t even really understand at what point people who know each other can technically be called friends. Therefore, Nazuna finds out that he probably never made friends all his life, which explains his aloof and introverted nature.

Those memories suddenly come to his mind when Kou is called from behind by his childhood friend Akira as he returns home after wandering the city all night with Nazuna. He is shocked that she is carrying the transceiver he once left in his apartment complex in the hopes that he will finally make a friend. However, Akira claims that he actually gave it to her.

What Kou didn’t know was that he’d left the transceiver in Akira’s mailbox, not knowing it was hers. She had seen him leave it and assumed he wanted to give it to her, which was not the case. But he refrained from telling her the truth. Akira reminded her of their childhood when she approached him while he observed the ants all alone. It was on that day at the playground that the two children became friends, although they haven’t had much contact for a while despite living in the same apartment complex.

It turns out that Akira likes to get up early in the morning and go for a long walk in school clothes. The two friends decide to meet every day from then on. Once Kou is alone, he contacts Nazina via the transceiver to tell her that he actually has a boyfriend.

The next night, Nazuna and Kou spend the night in the apartment as they usually do. But when Kou is about to leave, Nazuna claims they still have plenty of time. However, when she finds out that Kou is going early to meet his friend, she is surprised. While Nazuna and Kou sit together in the park and talk about everyday matters, she observes them from the other side, hiding behind a tree.

Although he doesn’t expect it, Nazuna suddenly comes at them very angry. Kou fears the worst, but breathes a sigh of relief when she casually jokes about the fact that they’re having an affair. Meanwhile, Akira is confused. Trying not to hide her relationship with Kou, Nazuna tells her that they are just having a physical relationship. Though Kou panics, nothing could have prepared him for what she does next.

Call of the Night Episode 3 ends: Does Nazuna have feelings for Kou?

After spying on Kou and Akira for a while, Nazuna not only decides to talk to them, but is uncomfortably honest about his relationship with the former. Though she’s told Akira that they’re only having a physical affair from now on, Nazuna doesn’t stop there. She hugs Kou right in front of his friend and doesn’t hesitate to drink his blood. Akira is startled and tries to organize her thoughts. When she sees the teeth marks on Kou’s neck, there is no doubt that Nazuna is a vampire.

The trio go to a cafe where Nazuna confirms Akira’s suspicions and the two finally introduce each other. While Akira asks Kou to come back to school and claims she feels better when he is around, Nazuna stares blankly at the two friends. At that moment, something bothers her and she just leaves without any explanation. Kou gives the money from the account to Akira and runs after her. Unfortunately, Nazuna is not interested in talking to him at all. She flies away, while Kou starts looking for her everywhere.

He accidentally trips and hurts his mouth while climbing a flight of stairs and ends up under the stars. Kou then gets a call from Nazuna’s transceiver, who appears in front of him moments later. Even though he didn’t do anything wrong, Kou still apologizes to her, knowing she’s angry for some reason. Nazuna reassures him that everything is fine between them and even kisses him on the lips to drink the blood on his mouth.

Even though Nazuna misleads Kou, it’s pretty clear that she’s starting to have feelings for him. It’s pretty obvious from her strange behavior towards Akira which seems to make her jealous, which is why she claims to have a physical relationship with Kou even before introducing herself to her. Additionally, when Akira opens up about missing him at school, Nazuna immediately runs away afterward, also indicating that she was uncomfortable with the situation. All this can only be rationalized if we consider that she probably developed feelings for Kou. It would be interesting to see how her relationship with Kou develops from here.
