Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 24 Recap
Days before Hange met General Magath and Pieck for negotiations, she and Levi jumped into the river to protect mankind’s strongest soldier from the Yaegerists who were willing to kill him. She was then chased by soldiers allied with Eren and forced to take them out. After hiding Levi’s wounded body in the woods, she sat on a treetop and shot any Yaegerist who came after her. When she made sure no one was following them, Hange tended to Levi’s serious injuries and was surprised that his friend had somehow survived the violent blast.
Today, Hange tried to negotiate with General Magath and Pieck to work with them. Levi, who still hasn’t recovered from his injuries, supported his friends’ arguments and hinted at the desire to join forces against Eren. When Magath expresses his wish to learn more about Zeke’s whereabouts, Hange claims that Eren has probably absorbed him so he can continue to use the Founding Titan’s powers. Meanwhile, Connie is resting in a forest as he and Falco make their way to his village.
He feels guilty about his decision, but thinks he doesn’t have much of a choice. The next day when he reaches his village, Falco finally begins to get suspicious of Connie. The latter shows him his mother in her current state and asks him to help him brush her teeth. As he leads Falco to the roof of his ruined house, Armin and Gabi reach the spot at just the right time. They warn him that Connie is going to feed him to his mother. Armin, who has seen enough bloodshed so far and feels he should not have survived instead of Erwin, decides to take matters into his own hands.
The keeper of the Colossal Titan decides to sacrifice herself to turn Connie’s mother into a human being. But just as Armin is about to be devoured, Connie intervenes and saves his friend. He realizes the gravity of the mistake he was about to make and thinks her mother would never have wanted him to kill a child, not even to save her life. Gabi, Armin, Connie and Falco then go to a nearby market for something to eat, where they accidentally meet Annie, who doesn’t think twice about joining.
Meanwhile, Floch is about to execute Yelena and Onyankopon and explains all the reasons to justify the decision to the Yaegerists. When Onyankopon bounces back, Jean shoots four times into the ground, after which the Cart Titan devours him. It turns out Pieck had just rescued him after a deal with Hange, and she even managed to take Yelena and Onyankopon with her. Mikasa, Connie, Armin, who has already joined forces with Gabi, Flaco and Annie, wake Reiner.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 24 End: Why does Annie wake up Renier? What are she and her allies planning to do?
After Eren acquired the Founding Titan and was given virtually divine powers, Reiner was too overwhelmed by the loss. He had expressed his desire many times in the past to just die so that his violent life could finally come to an end, and his inability to stop Eren and Zeke’s plan made him even more depressed. He fell into a long sleep as Gabi decided to fight back and risk her life. After they rescue Falco with the help of Armin, they also add Annie to their number and wake Reiner.
It is noteworthy that Jean’s shooting into the ground several times was actually a signal for the Cart Titan to take him along with Yelena and Onyankopon to Hange and General Magath. Mikasa even confirms this by telling Connie about Jean’s signal. While viewers don’t get to see Hange and General Magath planning the entire operation with Jean, Mikasa, Connie, Annie, and Armin, it appears they conspired to make the mission a success.
But where does Reiner’s awakening come in all this, and what is the ultimate purpose of the sudden revolt. While it may seem impossible to stop Eren, it seems these brave soldiers have not yet given up hope. They wake Reiner to bolster their troops so they can fight back against the Yaegeristen on Paradis Island and eventually confront Eren, who is about to take the lives of all humans on the planet except Ymir’s subjects. . Their mission can be summed up in Connie’s answers to Reiner when asked where they want to go. He tells his former enemy that they are “going to save the world.”
